Sushi Train / Belated Blogging

I had these photos on my iPhone that I took a few weeks ago when Sian, the boys and I checked out the new sushi train place in town.

We had a choice of interesting combinations of sushi to choose from but had to be mindful not to go too crazy by picking lots of plates which had different prices, which would have cost a fortune.  But it looked so delicious as it passed us by to tempt us.

I should have posted these photos a while ago. Since then, Mr F and Lou have had hair cuts. This post is for my memory of that lovely afternoon I had with Sian and the boys.

 

I have read about a movement in the blogging world about slow blogging!

That amused me. Maybe there is such a  

thing as belated blogging!

This week Sian cut her second tooth!

Metters Canberra Wood Stove

The other night I had the joy of cooking pizza in this old Canberra wood stove in our our friend's kitchen. It probably dates back to the 30's - isn't it a beauty. It was fun to cook in but I dont know if I would want to cook on it every night. You would have to be really organised. It takes a while for the oven to really heat up so I think the novelty would wear off quickly for me. But on those chilly mountain winter evenings it would be lovely having it running all day with a roast slowly cooking in it and the aroma warming up the house.

It does look gorgous in the kitchen and warms up the kitchen space. At one stage we did get quite hot working in front of it. The pizzas came out beautifully but I forgot to take a picture of the cooked pizzas.

The temperature has really dropped here in the last few days. I thought we might have had some snow, but not yet. We had the fire cranked up to warm the house and another sock on the needle. This sock is for Katie - it is Waikiwi NZ Merino, Alpaca, Possum and Nylon.

 

It is so lovely and toasty, I keep trying it on. As soon as I have finished this pair, I'm casting a pair for me. :)

The Girl with the Violet Hair

Here's a fabulous drawing that Katie drew in the waiting room while I was at an appointment yesterday.

She is blossoming into a talented artist.

I love seeing what she creates in her art journals.

I wish I had the energy to be creative. At the moment, a teething baby that wakes up at 3 am most mornings is a bit draining. I know it's only for a short time. Before I know it Sian will be all grown up. She only a baby for such a short time hence all the baby pictures on my blog at moment and not much knitting or crafting.
