The Girl with the Violet Hair

Here's a fabulous drawing that Katie drew in the waiting room while I was at an appointment yesterday.

She is blossoming into a talented artist.
I love seeing what she creates in her art journals.

I wish I had the energy to be creative. At the moment, a teething baby that wakes up at 3 am most mornings is a bit draining. I know it's only for a short time. Before I know it Sian will be all grown up. She only a baby for such a short time hence all the baby pictures on my blog at moment and not much knitting or crafting.

This week you have been practicing standing with no hands. You had your first big fall, bumped your head and got a little graze.

You also just cut your first tooth!

Chess

Forgetting for a moment that it's the Easter long weekend and the library is closed, we had to return the DVD that was due back today. Mr F had also left $13 for me pay off on his library card fines. I'm working on a better system in our home to try and keep the library books in the library bag somewhere in the house so we are reminded to return them on time ;) I keep forgetting about them.

As the library was closed, we stumbled on the chess set next to the library. On Saturdays there are tables set up with chess sets for people to play a game.

Katie and Mr F had a game with the big chess pieces, with Lou and Sian interrupting every so often.

15/52

Maria took these pictures last week at a local coffee shop.

This week, you have discovered your loud voice and are enjoying using it. You also like crawling under chairs and getting stuck.

Your teeth are on their way and you like chewing on lots of things. I love your gummy kisses on my chin.

Socks!!!!!!! I did it, finally.

I did it. I finally knitted a pair of socks and it wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be. I attended a workshop at the House of Wool in Blackheath where Shelly helped us through the steps and once I got the idea of what to do, I whizzed through my second sock and just started another pair.

The yarn I used is Hawthorne Cottage 4ply sock wool. Aren't those colours just beautiful - like a sunset on your feet!

Mr T is modelling his new socks. I finished them on Friday just as he was going on an overnight camp with Lou and Mr F. They kept his toes warm all night while the rain kept pouring on the tent outside!
