The Summer of Color

The Summer of Color, week 3, hosted by Kristin at Twinkle Twinkle.

This week's colours are lavender, grey and plum!

Here's my picture for this week. I used silver paint (it was a bit gluggy) for the grey, Liquitex deep violet ink for the plum colour and mixed some acrylic paint for the lavender!

I'm fighting a head cold today so my picture is painted a bit roughly. If I didn't do it today, I wouldn't have got it done! I made up this pattern painted on a bit of off cut wood like I did last week. The off cut of wood measures just under 3 inches by 4 inches.

Thanks to everyone who stopped and left lovely feedback comments :) It is nice to see everyone leaving comments on each others blogs.

The Summer of Color

I stumbled upon this art challenge last week at Twinkle Twinkle.

It was too late to join in on the first week. I thought I'd give this week a go so I dusted off my paint brushes and got creating. Being short on time with an 11 month old baby tottering around me, I can only do creativity in short bursts at the moment. I would have  liked to add a bit more to it but I'm happy with the little bit I have done.

Here's what I have come up with!
I painted this floral piece on a bit of off cut wood with Jo Sonjas acrylic colours

This week the colours are coral, teal and a splash of white.

Knit In Public Day

It was Knit In Public day today at the House of Wool in Blackheath. I knitted from 10am until 4pm and my hands are aching from the cold and knitting most of the day!

I managed to get a fair bit of Katie's sock finished in between chatting, laughing, eating yummy cake and drinking tea. My goal is to get Katie's sock finished for her birthday on Tuesday.

It was a great day with lots of people coming and going. Some of the ladies from the Blacktown and Blaxland Knitter's Guild came up on the train for a visit as well the ladies from the Upper Mountains Knitter's Guild. Even a guinea pig popped in ( it had just been picked up for one of the knitter's sons).

After I have finished these socks I can maybe finally cast on a pair of socks for myself. My boys have put in a request for a pair too.

On the way home I saw this rainbow just peering out from the tree tops!

This gorgeous Ozifarmers Market merino-cashmere mix yarn had to come home with me!
