Apples

Apples!.........we have apples!

Ok, it's only 6 of them.... but our tree is only 1 1/2 metres tall.

Little Lou is very excited. He has been going out each morning, checking on them to see if they are ok and still there.

On the other hand, something keeps eating our strawberries and the rest have gone mouldy from all this rain.

I LOVE apples!!! Mice and birds LOVE to eat strawberries. You can protect them from the birds a little by putting a sheet of remay over them or netting. Take care and Congratulation on your orchard :)

What fun to find these things that grow in our own backyards!!! I'd love an apple tree too, but might wait for the next home in Byron region... How long until you can pick them??

It will be the snails eating the strawberries! Greedy little things! The apples look lovely! :-)

Your apples are looking great! We have 5 on our baby tree (3 years old, and the first fruit we've seen.) You know you're not much of a farmer when you count your fruit :)

Yay! That is soooo exciting. I picked an apple from a tree once and ate it. It is one of those city girl 'moments'. I remember feeling ecstatic, all the way through the apple and then each time I remember it.

I'm pretty chuffed with my mulberry tree.

So you must have a beautiful garden too if you can grow apples.

How exciting- really! Do you have more than one for pollination or is it a self-pollinating variety?
We will defintely be buying some when we finally settle in a new place, my son is also VERY excited about getting apples- he has been asking for 2 years (and he's only 5now!!!)
