Earth Hour - 2008

Here's to doing our bit for the environment :-)
Off with all the electrical goodies and on with the candles (Hmmm... do candles produce CO2?).
Anyway, we all had fun creating our own entertainment with an assortment of instruments for the first half hour. The second half hour we all snuggled up on the bean bag listening to dad play guitar by candlelight. The excitement got too much for the little ones (Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.................).

Snails & Butterflies

I was looking at some photos on file and I came across this:

These snails and butterflies were made late last year for Katie's school fete. The snails were from a pattern but the butterflies I designed myself.
Little Loopity Lou has exhausted me too much to hand sew lately so I thought I'd put a photo of these relatively recent creations out there for you all to see (hopefully, it will make it look like I've been busy..... well, at least I was last year!).

Scarf d'Opulence

I knitted this scarf for a friend last year as a Christmas Pressy . It's called Scarf d'Opulence from Freeform Knitting and Crochet by Jenny Dowde.

The yarn was Yarn Bee from Spotlight. It was quick and fun to knit and I was really happy how the colours worked together with the ribbon and the yarn, reminding me of the leaves as they change to their warm autumn colours.

Fishy All-Sorts

All the fish are swimming in the water,
Swimming in the water, swimming in the water ....

Staying with the aquatic theme a little longer, one of Katie's most recent pictures was too cute not to share.

Starfish

It's been a while between blogs - I had to get a new internet provider and now I'm finally back on line (yippppee!).

I haven't been doing much craft stuff as I've been trying to catch up on sleep. Little Loopity Lou has been busy growing some teeth (6 of them) and I've been feeling like a big organic teething rusk.

However, I managed to make some needle-felted Starfish for Katie's school craft stall.
I've made some other items as well but they're half finsished and all over the house away from little hands. My goal is to try and finish all these half started projects before I start new ones.
There's so much that I want to do but not much time, and with sleep deprivation I try not to get frustrated because that would dampen my creative energy. I suppose it is all about balance (I do get a bit lop-sided with 10 and half kg hanging off my boobs!).
